Rare Fern discovered?

A rare fern, Polypody chimera, has been discovered growing on a Tudor chimney a few miles south of the centre of Stockport. It needs very special conditions and is at its best when fed with smoke from Yew logs burning in the fire below.

It has to be said that Mrs.K., whose botanical knowledge far exceeds that of the author, is very sceptical about the accuracy of Knottman's i.d.

In the absence of a 60 foot ladder the matter will have to rest unresolved.
