Kirkfell, Lake District

After Northern Ireland it was on to the Lake District and I managed to climb Helvellyn (no photos sadly) and Kirkfell in the couple of days I was there. I only realised recently that when going up Kirkfell I managed to take the most difficult route - heading up what someone once called 'the fiercest ascent in the country'. It certainly felt like it, but the view from half-way up was worth it. (Sadly the cloud closed in at the top, so there wasn't much of a view from the summit. Very atmospheric though!)
