Doors in Oslo # 69

I pass this door quite often and I have always liked it: grand, old door  and in the same time the painted flower gives it a hint of naivism.

The building is from 1875 and is design in art nouveau style by architect Georg Andreas Bull (the brother of the famous Norwegian composer and violinist Ole Bull - youtube).

It was built as a chemical-metallurgical laboratory for the University and in 1930 it became the seat of the National Institute for whale research. From 1939 it was taken over by the university's Museum of National Antiquities.
Today it is also the building for the staff at the Museum.
