rowan

Rowan gets its name from an old Germanic  word meaning 'to redden' , and it's always the first tree to take on an autumnal look. This is the first year that this one, which I rescued from a tiny sapling I found trying to grow in the foundations of my parents' house, has flowered and fruited.
