Worth the wait
On a day when I have spent about 10hours in the car I am surprisingly spoiled for blip choice. But I have wanted to come to Bilbao for so long and even on this briefest of visits it has not disappointed so this icon of the city seems the most appropriate.
It no doubt helps that the lovely hotel is on the river and overlooking The Guggenheim so the very first thing Albi and I could do was take a long walk along the river. Well after checking in and having the car parked for me and Albi been greeted by a goodie bag with treats and a bouncy ball in our room. Back to the hotel for a rejuvenating room service dinner and now a quick visit to the roof top bar for a night-cap before tomorrow's adventures.
I know my family (and other animals) think I'm odd but I have had such a great day. Apart from a boring bit around Madrid the whole of Spain has been stunning in both its vastness and its beauty and I have only fallen more in love with it with every mile clocked up. And I have been entertained by a mix of Russian Roulette by Anthony Horowitz - a Jackson recommendation and a gripping tale, if more than a little dark in places so I have broken it up with some informative This Sceptred Isle and the always reliable light relief of Cabin Pressure. And for the last bit some loud music and singing. Because I can.
