John's Bass

This is what often keeps me in time whenever we play: the big, deep sound of John Flancher's bass which sits a mere three feet behind me. We had a great first-rehearsal this evening and sight-read through all our music which includes a bit of Bartok, Smetana, Rossini, and Schubert. The only piece we didn't get to was Telemann's Concerto for Two Violas, and I learned that one of those two violas will be my talented neighbor Betsy!  This is going to be interesting.
