summer at the seaside

One youngster seemed more enthusiastic about a trip to the beach than the rest of the family. 

I wasn't over excited. We were woken by the hotel fire alarm last night after only an hour in bed, so had to head off along the corridor, down the fire escape and out to the assembly point .......... in the rain. 

We were soon allowed back in as the staff quickly established that there was no fire, but it took me hours to get back to sleep. 

A dry but mostly cloudy day finished with thunder and some impressive lightning.
