Belsay

Headed south to Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens - excellent day.  Loved all of it, especially the walk through the quarry garden from the hall to the castle.  Huge high trees, interesting plants we've never seen before and wonderfully luxuriant growth everywhere.

Both the castle and the hall itself were fascinating, and all very explorable with hardly any ropes or boundaries!

Later in the day we carried on southwards to Peterlee, to visit Mike's sister, a lovely lady we don't see often enough.
