A Catch Up Day

Back blip

Bb and I both had a much needed good night's sleep in the hotel after last night's shenanigans.

Checked out at mid-day, back home and all fine. We did a full test of all the areas of the burglar alarm - all working. We're still trying to piece together the sequence of events of last night: whose alarm went off first, when the tiles/slates were knocked off our neighbour's roof onto the patio etc. As street president, he had to get an email out and do some door knocking to let all the residents know about the attempted break-ins and ask everyone to be more vigilant than normal and report anything unusual, no matter how small. A group of us have been very keen for years to get our passageway gated off and this incident makes it all the more attractive and necessary. It's a process and already started, but it's good that Bb's president as we can push things forward.

A visit, coffees and catch up from Scottish friend Alistair K in the afternoon and as 3 Scots together, we usually end up telling a few jokes. Here's an old favourite: what do Rupert the Bear and Henry the VIII have in common?

The school where I was meant to be working this summer has confirmed they've found a trainer to start on the course on Thursday for the month. I think she's based in Ireland and arriving Wednesday. Big relief all round!

Brief phone call to my brother at night and he seems to progressing in the right direction.

My blip here's in the place that we call 'Bb's mum's hotel place', which has come into its own this month as it's got easy access with no stairs, a disabled toilet. If my mum-in-law Jean's reading this - we stayed in the same hotel last night as you did for two nights when Teleri and Richard were with us.
