Cabbage tree

It was a wild windy day, so we didn't go far from Stromness. We spent the morning in the museum; a lovely little town museum full of surprises and fascinations. Later we went for a walk along to the Ness, but the wind was so strong it was hard to make headway and the resident seals had all gone into hiding. It was very bracing! 

In the evening we took our hostess out for dinner in the local hotel to give her a break from her sterling cookery work.
