Bells are ringing

The theme of the day was fire alarms. I had a scheduled visit at 7:45 am to check some fire safety issues along with an alarm test at a building opposite Huddersfield University and for some reason this set the scene for the day. 

A rogue fire alarm meant that the Fire Service were called out twice this morning to one of my library buildings. They charge £420 a pop for each visit so it was all hands on deck to get the engineer to check out the system.

A wasp was removed from the rogue smoke detector - it was posthumously charged, tried and found guilty of maliciously sounding the alarm. The all clear was given and the alarm re-set.

The alarm went off again this afternoon.   grrrrrrrrr........
