It's like taking coals to Newcastle
John and I are off to France tomorrow, or more specifically to Normandy. Amongst other things, Normandy is famous for being one of the foremost cider-producing regions of the world. As a cider drinker I ought to be delighted about this. However, I have to confess that I can't stand Normandy cider.
So here I am loading the car with a couple of cases of mass-produced, industrial cider, sold under a Belgian brand name (Stella Cidre) and bought at an American cash and carry (Costco) in Watford, to take across the channel to France.
It's a funny old world isn't it.
