Journey Through Time

Western Grey Squirrel

Okay, I know this is a first class lousy image...HOWEVER, these grey squirrels do not cooperate with photographers and only through the window was I able to capture a photo of these shy squirrels.  They are larger than the squirrels we have in our back yard, and they have that gorgeous, large fluffy tail.  I've only seen them at my stepmom's place, in their woods, as they skirt around the edge of their property.
The western gray squirrel (Sciurus griseus) is an arboreal rodent found along the western coast of the United States and Canada.
In some places, this species has also been known as the silver-gray squirrel, the California gray squirrel, the Oregon gray squirrel, the Columbian gray squirrel and the banner-tail.

Bill and I traveled to Corvallis to see my people there.  We had a nice visit with them on our overnight trip and were also happy to see my cousin and her husband.  They stopped by and regaled us with some wonderful stories which had us very entertained.  I had an actual genealogical connection to my step-mom and her family in our common Lovejoy line that connected back in the 1600's.  However, new information put that in doubt and that link went away.  As it turns out, we have another ancestor in common, which goes further back in time and according to my genealogy program, my stepmom is my 23rd cousin 4X removed.  I find that highly amusing and it only proves...we are ALL related.
Hope you are all well, my cousins.
