Chat, Gossip, Gossip

One of the pleasures of being in Edinburgh during August is shooting performances as part of the International Festival, there is always one that simply blows your mind and The Magic Flute by Komische Oper Berlin is th show that has done it this year.

The entire show is performed with a projected animation requiring the performers to interact with flying bees, exploding hearts and packs of dogs that don't exist  in any other way than the light hitting the screen behind them. 

I've also learnt a little bit of German from some of these projections, these three ladies are Mrs Chat, Mademoiselle Gossip and Fraulein Gossip. Who would have thought that the Germans would have had two words for gossip!
