Drumming in the rain

The Leith Jazz & Blues festival was on this weekend,

I stopped into the "Malt & Hops" this afternoon to catch jazz, partly because they have the best selection of beer available of the venues and partly because it was chucking down with rain and it was one of the closest venues.

I spent a couple hours sipping down some quality beers and listening to jazz.

Here's the description from the programme:
"Guilty as Sin" : Soul and jazz covers from a trio made up of two of 'The Jammie Devils' well known for their long time residency in the Carriers Quarters. Featuring Kenny Tomlinson on saxophone.
Peter Fenton: Vocals and Guitar, Kenny Tomlinson: Sax, Keith Dobson: Bass

When the jazz trio were finished playing a crowd of drummers arrived outside and started playing, in the lashing rain, it was cold and wet and miserable but they played really well and I went out to listen to them. It wasn't exactly jazz or blues, they were wearing sweatshirts that said "Pulse of the Place" which turns out to be a "youth Samba band".

They were really good and hats off to them playing outside in such lousy weather!
