If you can't beat them...

Prunus incisa Kojo-no-mai

I was having what is becoming a regular roam round the garden looking for blips, between showers of course.  A number of things caught my eye, new plants for Clickychick's garden project and Fungi on logs (again for a n up and coming CC project).

Eventually I settled on the Prunus Kojo-no-mai, as the name suggestes this is a cherry.   A plant I can fully recommend, it has something to offer at most seasons, small white flowers before the leaves, bright green spring foliage and then for much of the summer this vivid red foliage.

We grow ours in a container on the patio so it is remaining small, however the RHS say it grows to 2.5 m eventually (20 to 50 years).
