Dinner at Locust Thicket

Argh!!! I didn't bring my camera! So this is the iPhone and one day I will return to get a real photo.

Tonight, my husband and I joined another couple for a "dining event" at Locust Thicket. This house was built by major Scott who fought in General Washington's army in the Revolutionary war. His property was huge, bordering Thomas Jefferson's property. So the house is one of the oldest in Lynchburg.

A father and daughter bought the property and renovated it and will open a resterant or tavern in the future, but until then they will have a monthly "special" dinner. Tonight's was the first and it was extravagant! Poached oysters in a fennel sauce, roasted quail, duck with butter beans, sourgum cake with damson compote.

A gorgeous evening with great food and wonderful friends.
