Despite their best known song, it was standing room only at the Ross Bandstand. We managed to nab a decent pitch, and with the castle as a backdrop and a clear starry night, it was an impressive setting for the event. Tim Booth was on splendidly sinuous form, crowd surfing and energetically prowling around the stage. The band's encore coincided with the fireworks at the end of the Tattoo, and a walk through the trees decked out with coloured lights finished off what turned out to be a quite magical celebration.
