Flower Friday - Bursting with Promise

A promise of flowers to come. I am intrigued by poppies at the moment - their shapes, textures and colours are fascinating at all stages whether it is bud form, fully petalled or in their dying stages.

Here are two buds at the point of bursting open - you can see the one on the left just starting to split. The sun was shining on the foliage making it intensely green.

Today is Daffodil Day - the major fundraiser for the Cancer Society. To honour this very worthwhile cause, I have posted a daffodil in the extras.
