roots and rain
I spent a few hours this morning at Allan Bank in Grasmere which was recently opened to the public by the National Trust. It was home to William Wordsworth for a few years in the early 19thC and later owned by Canon Rawnsley, founder of the National Trust.
I was keen to explore the grounds but, true to form, it started raining the moment I stepped out of the house (after my coffee and cake) and stopped when I was leaving. There were some red squirrels about but I failed to get a good photo. I’ll be returning.
