SuperDad
I'm always proud of my Dad for so many reasons but today he reminded me again how amazing he is when he climbed The Fissure, a 280 metre climb (see extra photo), which he's been admiring for years since coming here. It's one of the most well known and famous climbs in the area.
He met Patrick, who was looking for a partner and was happy to lead and off he went early in the morning like an excited child. We spotted them through the binoculars, like tiny ants on the rock and after watching for a while Mum, Anya & I went off for a walk down to Pelvoux.
After 5 hours climbing they made it to the top! Dad came back pretty exhausted but elated, apparently one of his 'toughest climbs yet'.
Looking up at the rockface from the campsite I can't believe Dad climbed that, aged 66 he managed something I couldn't even attempt to do!
