Sunset at Mendlesham

There is something about the sunsets at Mendlesham, maybe it's the masts, but they're always good.

A crafty day off flying on the winch for what looked to be a good, if breezy, day. Not quite - but fun all the same.

P got away on first tow (to Beccles). The remaining three of us were in the dead air between the clouds / shade from clouds and nothing happened until I got a very weak area of lift late afternoon.

Drifting the first 8km below 1000' was technical, then getting a complete 360 in lift at 10km a relief. A decision to go for sun and pass over an actual real (but weak) thermal later on saw me land at Metfield airfield at 25km. Like flying home!

Food in Beccles after being picked up, again, by M then back to the airfield to collect cars and finish packing up.

Long day, but satisfying.
