Tomatoes

One thing we have in abundance this year is tomatoes.

W planted some seeds early this year, but they got a bit dry whilst we were in Thailand and didn't seem to be germinating.  We wrote them off to experience, and our poor choice of holiday time.  And we bought a variety of tomato seedlings at the plant sale of his gardening club.

We now have tomatoes of varying size, shape and colour.

Of course, we'd no sooner planted these up than the seeds suddenly germinated - so we have other tomato plants in baskets and pots.  They're a bit behind - we probably won't get many ripe tomatoes off them.

Also featuring in this picture is the new automatic watering system - so at least our tomatoes will not dry out whilst we are away next week.  We're off to sail a narrow boat around the canals of Birmingham - a new experience for both of us.  Should get some interesting photos of bumping into the walls of motoring smoothly into locks.
