Scary stuff
Friday night football at the Falkirk Stadium - Falkirk versus Dumbarton in the SPFL Championship, and it's live on BBC Alba.
Don't know what the Gaelic is for 'phew', but it was a game where the home team just about deserved their 2:1 win, but no-one could have complained had the match ended in a draw. It was nervy stuff for the home fans as the Bairns held out towards the end.
The half-time 'entertainment' (and I've enclosed that noun in apostrophes for a reason) consisted of the Falkirk FC mascot, Fergus the Fox, and the Howie, the mascot for the local Howgate Shopping Centre trying to kick footballs through a hole in a large advertising hoarding. Unsurprisingly, that ended with neither costumed adult achieving the feat. All a bit pointless really.
This evening's Blip shows Howie (the rather scary creature in blue) and Fergus (his Falkirk FC strip covered by a large white t-shirt for some reason) leaving the field at the end of the exercise. What the photo doesn't portray is the wave of indifference that surrounded their appearance.
