Obama
Started the day out in the burbs where I was registered to vote. There's a pond near my parent's house that I would have loved to use for my blip today, but it didn't really symbolize the day.
Anyways, went downtown and stayed down there (about 430ish) for the Obama rally. Everyone was expecting massive chaos and traffic, but since everyone was expecting that everyone took off early and the loop was near empty at rush hour when we parked. Kind of felt like the calm before the storm.
The pictures I took while I was there all came out awful, this was the only somewhat non-blurry picture, but it's not exactly a great photo so...
We ended up getting there WAYYYY too early, so Matt and I tried to find a place to sit down and get a drink. Since every place had a huge line I had the clever idea of going into a hotel and hitting up the bar/restaurant there (didn't think most people would think of that). Lucky for me, I was right! We got a seat at the Hilton hotel in their bar lobby area with a tv right in front of us. I met some flight attendants from London, which was great since we talked to them for like 2 hours before we went back to the park (before Obama came on).
I can't believe their lifestyle - they flew into Chicago on an 8 hour flight today and then they fly back out tomorrow on another 8 hour flight back to London. I dread a single long flight, can't imagine doing those everyday.
My blip is of Chiara's friend Patrick who was painting a few blocks down from Grant Park (where the rally was) in front of the bean.
