Staithes
A day of countless blip opportunities!
Missed the first altogether by failing to take any shots of our breakfasts at Java - they were a sight to behold! Tom's 'half-breakfast' was more than adequate, and even MrM didn't quite finish his 'full English'! My salmon and scrambled eggs were delicious. And the coffee second to none!
A morning of wandering around Whitby - watched the flash ceilidh (I even had a dance), walked up to the Bandstand and watched a few dance sides, had the obligatory 'Whitby Goth' ice cream, went across to the Craft Fair at the Leisure Centre to say some goodbyes and buy one or two little items... And back to the campsite for a cup of tea or two. Could get used to this!
MrM and I spent a pleasant afternoon strolling round Staithes, and in the evening walked up the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey. The bell ringers were practising and there was an almost-full moon to add to the atmosphere.
Back down to the Golden Lion for the last time this year! Can't help hoping that they decide to stock some half-decent cider (without too much fizz and tasting of apples) or better red wine (best not to mention their red wine at all!) before next year. Or perhaps the musicians could play at a different pub. Just saying!
