Scruffy Youngster

There's been a new influx of Jackdaw juveniles in the garden since we got back from Birdfair. It's probably just as well I bought a big box of fat balls as I was leaving.

This one needs to sharpen up a bit though. He was a tad on the scruffy side!

I am still swamped in up to thirty sparrows each day. I put seven fat balls out yesterday and the whole lot went within twenty four hours. It resembled Martin Hughes-Games's footage of the piranhas he showed us on the Sunday. It was a complete feeding frenzy. I suspect this wet and cool summer we are having is having a lot to do with it!
