Bald Eagle

The Sealed Knot

Almost 1000 people gathered on the Roodee (aka Chester racecourse) to witness the reenactment of the Battle of Rowton Moor, 1645. It was quite a spectacle, starting with the two armies parading through the city on their way to the battle field. The sights, sounds and smells of battle were very real, but without a drop of blood being spilt. (I have gone for the older form of the past participle as it seemed more appropriate in the circumstances) All the dead were raised at the end.

I imagine that there will be more carnage in the city streets tonight before they do it all again tomorrow.

It is not often that one sees a show on this scale free of charge.

More Faces of Battle here. I am a really bad editor so many more than there needs to be.
