Shepherd Neame Offices
Another morning in Faversham helping Carol with her quilts. I always get jobs done on these occasions and this a.m. it was posting off 11 eBay parcels. There are several counters at the PO so I wasn't hogging things too much and there's a separate counter for stamps andquick stuff. I also took three very full bags to three charity shops. These abound in Faversham. Despite the bootful volume my house is still cluttered. More to do. In time I salvaged my Book Club book from the charity bag. It was David Nobbs' "It had to be you", a good read IMHO and Alan read it too. Not so well regarded by other members who thought it was slight. This month it's "Jude the Obscure", not slight!
Anyway these are the offices of the Shepherd Neame Brewery, the oldest independent brewery in the UK, brewers of Spitfire and, under licence, Asahi (Alan's favourite) and Kingfisher, as found in Indian restaurants. The decorations are hops.
