Seasons

As the summer season is coming to a close, so a season in my life has come to a close today. These two benches sit at the end of the parking lot at the church I said goodbye to today. I have been a part of Gloria Dei church for the past fifteen years. I am so grateful for the many loving relationships that I have made over this time and I am also grateful for all I have learn there. I have lasting friendships and a spiritual toolbox to take on the road with me as I enter the next season of my life. I am still not sure what season that is yet, I am waiting on God to let me know. As I leave and as I wait to see what is next I am comforted by a scripture piece in Ecclesiastes 3:1...To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the Heaven:

Over time and in each changing season I have taken pictures of these two benches that sit under this tree. I have loved watching how the scene changes. In summer the beautiful shades of green leaves, in fall the colorful leaves that fall and carpet the ground, in winter the bare branches that at times are covered with snow or ice and in spring the new life coming back with the tiny buds just waiting to explode. I am ready for the change and I look forward to what season is next in my life but Gloria Dei will always hold a special place in my heart.
