Unfit to drink

This is St Ninians well at the base of Arbroath Cliffs and the start of a lovely cliff walk. I remember as a child there was a stone cup attached to this with a chain and you could drink from it. It certainly does look unfit to drink from now, I suppose there are so many chemicals sprayed on the fields surrounding it that it must contaminate the water. It was dedicated to St Ninian in 1485, so it has some history attached to it!!
