Monday rant

The Olympics started last week and I missed it. Road closures affect various bits of London from now until September !

My commute through Greenwich Park is no longer possible on a motorbike, but may be done on a bicycle (?)

Going for a run around St James and Green Parks at lunchtime, I saw The Mall (see above) and Horse Guards Road are also closed to traffic.

The Olympics web site says 70% of London will not be affected - so around 2.5 million people will be affected (30% of the population of London). Down in the South West last week the TV news people said tourism in Weymouth (an Olympic site) was significantly down, due to usual visitors staying away - sensible people!

My advice is: stay away from London until at least September.
