Water Foul!

For over one hundred years a special football match has taken place in Bourton every August bank holiday.  The Bourton Rovers A team has played the B team in the middle of the River Windrush. It was pouring all day today so many of the onlookers felt as wet as the players at the start of the match but at the end we could not compete in a wet shirt and shorts contest with these soaked, hardy players.

The yellow team had a special player join them....Griff Rhys Jones wore the number 10 shirt and got stuck right in. Unfortunately he got sent off after a dunking incident...that could have been for the TV cameras. We can only think there must be a TV show coming up to do with British customs. I have included an out of focus shot of him in extras. Also in extras a goal being scored. There was some very expensive camera equipment being used by the photographers wading in the water but I was taking no chances on dry land with my point and shoot.
