Beautiful Day
It started off a glorious sunny day here in the Lake District, and despite the forecast rain we've stayed dry all day! The purple heather is at its best at the moment, and everywhere looked stunning especially with the sunny spotlights moving across the landscape, picking out the features.
We did a walk which ascended quite steeply from Mungrisdale up to the top of Bowscale Fell then progressed in a horseshoe via Bannerdale Crags and Souther Fell and back to the car. There was quite a lot of boggy ground at one point which was the depth of LooseCanon's leg up to the knee. I wonder how I know that!
I of course found a much better route and am not now having to watch my boots gently steaming dry on the radiator.
This was fairly early on looking south towards the distant fells.
Another three Wainwrights.
Extra is some fungi.
