Scillonian humour

If you haven't spotted it the bike say 'Roving Reporter'!
We have had sun today and walked around the Garrison walls in Hugh Town (originally the garrison was called the Hugh - hence Hugh Town) It was built in Elizabethan times and then added to right up until the second world war.
We had clear views over to Annet and St Agnes the most westerly islands in the group.

On our return we spotted this bike - outside the Radio Scilly offices - it had to be a blip.

After a local pasty for lunch we were on the sea again to Annet to sea the seabirds. (There were only 4 of us on board and a lively Springer Spaniel who wanted us to play by throwing his knotted rope! We were assured he wasn't daft enough to jump over board but we didn't try it.)

Annet is uninhabited and we were only able to see the birds at sea. We saw two
Shearwaters which is very unusual in the day time; then Puffins in the water and skimming the surface; also Razorbills. With a moving boat and birds bobbing up and down too photography isn't that easy but here are a couple.

After about an hour and a half of bobbing up and down watching birds, seals, the Bishop Rock Lighthouse in the distance and playing with the dog, we landed on St Agnes with it's distinctive light house. Time for a beer at the Turks Head, the most south westerly pub in Britain. We wandered on to Hightown and managed a cream tea in the Coastguard cottage before returning to the slip.
