Black Locust
The black locust, or Robinia pseudoacacia, so named because the leaves somewhat resemble those of the acacia. The seed pods are yellowy golden at present but will turn brown. Inside are dark brown, bean shaped seeds. Robinia is named for Jean Robin, herbalist to Henry IV of France who was assassinated in 1610 (I had to look that bit up!).
Many many thanks for all the stars and faves for the wet spider web. You are all very generous. I have never seen so many webs on one morning before.
