Kelpies in Glasgow
Travelling on a Bank Holiday - never a pleasure; 3 trains, 2 tubes, 9 hours!
Delayed due to power failure on the line.
Fortunately managed to capture this shot this morning, at Queen Street station.
The Kelpies rise 100ft above the Forth & Clyde canal midway between Glasgow & Edinburgh, adjacent to Falkirk football stadium. Designed by renowned sculptor Andy Scott, they each weigh over 300 tonnes.
This is one of 2 sets of 1:10 scale maquettes which have been placed in various locations locally, nationally & internationally (I spotted the other in Edinburgh last week) - artistic ambassadors for the full scale sculptures.
