The Japanese Garden

We arrived back in Wellington from Sydney just after midnight... the first of September which is, of course, the first day of spring. It has rained ever since... And been bitterly cold. We cheered ourselves up with a trip to Porirua and the Pataka Centre for lunch. There is a Japanese garden adjacent to the cafe and the azaleas were in full flower. This image shows one corner of this special place. The splashes of vibrant colours lit up a very grey un-spring-like day.
