Seed pods

Walked down to the river late morning - should have gone earlier as it was pretty hot again, so I didn't go quite as far as usual. Didn't have very many shots to choose from today, but I thought these seed pods looked quite attractive dancing in the breeze and the sunlight. I think it's wonderful how many different ways of seed dispersal there are, whether by air, or water or carried off on the coats of animals, and then in so many shapes and sizes. Clouds rolled in during the afternoon, and rain arrived in the evening - just before Roger finished cutting the grass!
