32 At 37

I first came to visit Seoul 2 years ago for my 30th birthday. 

It's what started the cogs turning and the process that eventually led me to my move here earlier this year. It seemed fitting, therefore, to return to the place it began for a celebratory drink. 

The bar at the Conrad is in on the 37th floor (at lot less vertigo inducing than the 118th floor of the Oxygen bar at the Ritz-Carlton in Hong Kong!) and has picturesque views of the Han river and the Korean capital. 

A relaxed late afternoon in an mal-positioned window booth, sipping mojitos and enjoying city views before a wonderful evening with wonderful friends - dinner, ice cream, drinks and norebang. And cake. 

Happy birthday boy. 

Today also marks the half way point - 6 months to the end of the contract - all downhill from here. Wishful thinking perhaps. Inevitably there will be a Korean surprise or two to throw a spanner in the works...
