Castle Mound
This is the north side of the mound at Corfe Castle: the angle of the sunlight is highlighting the striations on the mound, a feature which is usually difficult to discern. Perhaps this has been caused by centuries of animals grazing there.
Behind the gate and heading straight up the mound is a steep footpath used by some visitors. It won't get them into the castle, though!
There are some oddities in colour, this is because I was photographing almost directly towards the sun.
