The Great Rock

Nearly halfway up the mountain, surrounded by bilberry and lingonberry sprigs, is this rock with moss and tiny pine shoots on it. It is along my favourite walkie, so I often jump up on it, just because I love jumping. In this picture, I had done some serious exploring right before, so I have spider webs and pine needles in my face. Oops.

I very nearly swam today. Says mum. I want to point out that I didn't swim, because I don't swim, I only reached out for a stick in the water a bit further out than I usually do. Mum thinks that if she swims, I will swim too, it's just - she doesn't like swimming all that much herself. So I am wondering - why do we need to swim if neither of us like it?
