The little things
This week I've been struggling a bit. I have an awful lot to do and very little time to do it in. As a result, I have been measuring the small achievements, the little things. Tasks finished to completion regardless of how small. If the only thing I achieve is making myself another cup of tea, well it's an achievement.
These jars are today's big little achievement. When I tidied the kitchen last week, I pulled all the jam jars down from on top of the units. If they were going to be filled with tasty things this winter, they were going to look presentable and that meant the labels coming off. They were chucked in a plastic box, covered with water and left to soak... and left... and left...
Over the last two days, I have persevered, each time I passed I'd scrape another label off with a knife, scour off the remaining sticky, rinse and dry. So there you have it, my biggest little achievement, over 20 jars, cleaned and labels off. We'll not mention the fact I achieved losing the lid for one and also achieved them not fitting in the box I'd selected to put them away in.
Moving forward one small achievement at a time.
I should have photographed the amazing chips I made from yesterday's potatoes, now -they- were an achievement!
