Wet and yet still humid!

When I left early this morning for my first teaching session, the weather could not have been much worse. There was heavy downpours and the traffic was busy. I struggled to get a taxi but did so eventually and got there on time.

Had a good first session, nice lunch with the local HK tutors and then a taxi back to the hotel for a break. The rain was still coming down and on the lift up to my room I took this pic illustrating the rain outside. Note all the umbrellas! No one is wearing macs or clothes for protection as it is simply too humid. So people are still in shorts and thin dresses and just carrying umbrellas. The rain is warm so when you are out in it getting wet does not seem to matter. It is only when you hit the air con that it gets cold quicker.

Years ago I got caught in typhoon rains. I was barely 100 yards from the hotel when the clouds opened and the rain was torrential. It beat down on me, wetting me thoroughly in an instant. It was quite pleasant and I simply walked on to the hotel. However when I got into the lift the aircon froze my whole body and a hot shower was needed to recover!

So had a rest and preparing to return for tonight's teaching. 7-10 pm not easy but hopefully it will go as well as this morning.
