The Barking Dickie Inn?
3/5ths of the Gibbs family were up and out by 7.15 this morning. Jon & Mollie to Cambridge with trailer in tow. Me to Norwich.
I got in just after 8, my last early morning as we are back to waiting for a school bus tomorrow. I have decided (from tomorrow) to try and scale down my detailed daily diary. I think it is probably boring people. I know I waffle....
At lunch time I went over to John Lewis to buy a beard trimmer for Jon. However, because I had dawdled and taken photos walking up through timber hill i was cutting it fine & had to make a fairly quick decision. That bought I started to walk quickly back to work, when I spotted this building; it's 'To Let' - what a great little antique shop it would make! The sign says it is 20 Westlegate, but was previously the Barking Dickie Inn. I found an old photo online, which shows another old building next to it. Sadly now replaced by a concrete monstrosity! I wonder who will be moving in to this central Norwich building, with the knowledge that this was one of only 5 thatched buildings to survive the fire of 1507 which devastated Norwich.
Home by 5.30 and I miss Mollie being here. No washing up had been done, so that was my first job. Then Henry did dinner for him & Dan while I sorted out some weeds. I had a weight watchers dinner and sat down to write down how many calories I've eaten. A calculator on the NHS website says my BMI is 25.2 and I need to lose over a stone. Hmmm. I need to lose some by 19th to get into my dress. So I've had about 1200 calories today. Who knew there were 95 calories in a banana!?!
Bed after one born every minute :-)
