Juneau

Our second port of call: Juneau.

We booked an excursion through the cruise ship that was sort of a double excursion: we went first to the Mendenhall glacier, which was beautiful, but far too crowded. Then we went on a whale watching tour, which was a life changing experience.

Our whale watching captain found a group of whales that were bubble net feeding. They would all go deep under the water for a few minutes, herding the fish together, and then would surge up out of the water was one. The matriarch would come up the farthest of them all with her mouth wide open and then crash back down with a huge wave. 

It. was. amazing.
