So What's New???

The bark of a mature Downy Birch (Betula pubescens) seen through the contorted stems of a Paperbark Maple (Acer griseum) during an evening tour of the Cruickshank Botanic Gardens in Aberdeen under the aegis of the Scotland's Gardens Scheme, led by the Curator, Mark Paterson and Head Gardener, Richard  Walker.

The old guy in the distance seems to think he's heard it all before though...

Published in tribute to my late mother, who passed on to me her love of plants and gardens, and who was born exactly 100 years ago on this day in Shepherd's Bush in West London, reportedly as a German airship passed overhead on a bombing raid!
