The Challenge.

Happy Valley has a nice little river running through it. There are good footpaths down both sides. But there is only one bridge.
As you can see there are also stepping stones about half a mile upstream from the bridge. That would be a good circular walk.

I keep looking at the stepping stones. My eleven year old grandson would hop skip and jump across. Thirty years ago I would have never thought twice.

But when you reach the majestic age of eighty, well you look at it and think. The stones are wet and slippery and some of them slope.

So far discretion has proved the better part of valour. Yet each time I walk along there I look at it and wonder --- have I become a wimp?
