Keep On keeping On
Another day another three Wainwrights. We drove to Patterdale beside Ullswater and managed to bag Arnison , Birks and St Sunday Crag which are all Wainwrights and Gavel fell which isn't.
There were big clouds all around and it went very overcast. We had just reached the top when a passing squally cloud decided to sprinkle us with its drizzly rain, but it was nothing too seriously wetting. It was cold and windy though so we didn't hang around long other than to register that we could see Morcambe Bay, where it appeared to be sunny, in one direction and to the South western hills of Scotland in the other, where it looked decidedly dreich as they would say there.
I rather liked the curved shapes of this dry stone wall looking down towards Ullswater.
Extra is a Whimberry as I would call it, a bilberry in many parts of the country.
