Harlaw Monument

A Backblip. Our house is just below the horizon, out of sight. The monument commemorates the Battle of Harlaw in 1411, when Aberdeenshire Lairds and Aberdeen Burghers fought the Islesmen led by Donald Lord of the Isles. Both sides claimed the victory, but Donald led his men back home with little booty — which for the Islesmen made it a defeat!
